The Nazis are Coming!

Hmm, I recently discovered an "interesting" website @ http://www.americandecency.org. Apparently, American Decency is defined by Christian morals and views, so if you aren't a Christian, you are already not decent.

Anyways, after having a look around this website, I was able to put together a computer generated image of what the majority of the writers, contributers, etc. for this site must look like. I first skimmed through most of their issues, and was bombarded by stupidity and qqing. I decided that I get enough of that crap from MMO's, so I decided to skip the rest of the issues section. That lead me to the campaigns section.

At first, I thought this had something to do with the upcoming 2008 election, and I thought it would list politicians they support, those they oppose, which state legislatures have passed a Final Solution bill, etc. However, I was surprised to find out that the campaign were actions, petitions, etc. against "obscene" or "immoral" behavior. Ironically, the first campaign they had listed was against Victoria's Secret, so I decided to take a look hoping they'd have some pictures to demonstrate their points.

Unfortunately, I was wrong. It was a small wall of text that was tldr, but I can tell you with some assurance that it had something to do with Victoria's Secret objectifying women in their advertisements. I am one of those people who believes if a store really is doing something wrongful or hurtful that the people the store is wronging or hurting won't shop there or might be upset if a family member such as a significant other shops there and buys them a gift. I don't know... afterall, I am not a Christian anymore (though technically I can never stop being a Christian until I get myself excommunicated from the church since I received Confirmation back when I was 11 or 12).

After I was tldr'ing the Victoria's Secret thing, I decided to take a look at what their other campaigns were. I saw a cliche campaign against TV since TV is too sexual / vulgar now-a-days and parents are too lazy to tell their kids what they can and can't watch and don't hit them if they find their kids watching those shows. However, I was surprised that Grey's Anatomy was one of the shows they were battling against. Now, Ive never watched Grey's Anatomy before, but from what I could gather from the commercials, it was about a young Mexican or Cuban or something girl that ventures out into the rain forest to talk Math, Science, and Literature with animals. Apparently, I was wrong.

Another campaign was against a thing called Movie Gallery. Now, I had no incentive to even research what it is until I read the first line of the article: "Movie Gallery is known nationwide for its distribution of hard-core pornography." Perhaps I'll further investigate what Movie Gallery is at home. However, I think Movie Gallery should be cut some slack. After all, American Decency's concept of pornography is if a woman is wearing too short of a dress (you know, the kid that don't touch your ankles) or has too big of breasts (even if they are as natural as those that God made). So, I think the worst Movie Gallery has done is shown one too many money shots, but I'll find out later.

The other campaigns were against Abercrombie and Fitch and more media shit. Religious groups like this are why people are further distancing themselves from religion now-a-days. They may full-hearted agree with an overwhelming majority of what their religion teaches, but when shit headed groups like this begin associating themselves with their religion.

Epic win

Wow... my friend has apparently been trying to get himself fired for the about past month. Yesterday, my supervisor/boss told him that if she catches him fucking around on the computer again, he's fired, and today, guess what she found him doing?

Unfortunately, he wasn't fired. Him and I just switched places. The best part of this is that none of the programs we use will work for me on his old computer since I have never used it before. So, I get to chill until the LTU Tech Squad get their lazy asses here and fix the shit for me and my new boss.

I really don't know why my supervisor insists on putting up with my friend for as long as she has. She is a really nice person, but yesterday she told me that she has wanted to hire a replacement for him for over a year because he is a shitty worker. I really do think that if Matt hasn't been taking his sweet old time turning his application in that he would already be working here Yesterday, she also mentioned that she wanted to fire my friend at least twice in that day. Again, I don't know why she is putting up with him. She also had me talk to him because it would be something that friends do for each other.

I've never told her that she should just fire the kid because he is the reason I got the job and I feel indebted to him for that. However, had the circumstances been different, I would have told her to get rid of him and I'm sure she would have listened. Oh well...

Stuff

Well, I've been playing WoW on Burning Ascent for the past few days. I'm the first and only person to reach 70 and the first to get a flying and epic flying mount (Epic flying mounts go about as fast as the flight path mounts go... I couldn't believe that). I got basically all of the server firsts :) This server is pretty funny. A lot of people don't know how to level or make money. I got to 70 in 15 hours /played and got 6700g (counts all riding training and mount costs except for the level 40 mounts) in about 1 day 10 hours /played. There are people that have been playing since before I joined the server that haven't hit 40 yet. I don't understand how that's possible, but whatever.

On Saturday, my family went on the Detroit River Princess or some shit like that for their lunch buffet. It was pretty good - better than we all expected. It was funny to see some of the fat asses that clearly came just for the food... they were the only ones that stayed indoors the entire time.

I also found out that the new bridge that is being built in Detroit is going to have 6 lanes (instead of 4 like the Ambassador Bridge) and be built right next to the Ambassador Bridge. I don't understand the logic behind this. The reason the bridge gets so backed up is because customs takes a mandatory 5 minute minimum inspection of every vehicle with a 1 minute minimum bitching out the driver of the vehicle. Adding another lane will make the back-ups look visibly shorter, but it will still take just as long to get back into the US. The Canadian border rarely has problems. One of the few things Canada does that is better than the US.

Hurray!

I am starting to think about going back to WoW again, but everytime I vist the WoW website, I get reminded of how much time I wasted playing that game. Granted, for the most part, I did enjoy raiding with my Asian m8s, but the grinding in WoW is ridiculous. But, I can understand why they designed WoW that way... it keeps people playing it long after they've hit max level.

I also got to take a look at the D&D book called the Tome of Battle. This book has everything in it that I thought was missing from D&D melee classes. I was actually thinking of implementing something similar to maneuvers and stances in the game I was running, but they would behave more like feats that could be used once every few days depending on the power/level ratio. They would have been available to everyone, but there would be ones that only benefitted certain playing styles. They'd also cost quite a lot to use.

I like the way the Crusader gets to use maneuvers. At the beginning of an encounter, 2 of the crusaders maneuvers are randomly made available for him to use while the others remain unavailable. If the Crusader uses a maneuver, it gets spent and cannot be used until it is made available again. At the start of each turn for the Crusader, 1 random maneuver is made available. This continues for the entire encounter.

For the other 2 classes, they have all of their readied maneuvers available for use at the beginning of the encounter, but each maneuver can only be used once per encounter. It is a good thing to be able to use most of the Crusader maneuvers multiple times in an encounter like the healing attack or DR attack, but in order to constantly use them, you have to be lucky.

One of the other maneuvers I picked adds a +4 attack bonus to all of my allies that are attacking my target for 1 round. Another which I don't have access to yet cuz it is a max level maneuver, allows myself and all allies nearby to charge at an enemy or group of enemies without provoking any attacks of opportunity and if the charge is successful, my attack deals normal melee damage +50 and my allies' attacks deal normal melee damage +25 and the target(s) of the charge are stunned for a round. Also, the attacks made by the chargers gain an attack bonus of +2 for each person involved in the charge, including myself. Fun fun!

Stances are pretty cool too. The one I chose for the Crusader I made heals myself or a nearby ally for 2 points of damage everytime I make a successful melee attack. This means once I gain multiple attack bonuses (or god forbid I go duel wield), this healing would tick multiple times per round.

And since I'm on the subject of Crusaders, I'd like to mention a feature or 2 of their class. First, crusaders have a delayed damage pool. Basically, what this does is it prevents a certain amount of damage from affecting the crusader until the end of the crusader's turn. At low levels, the damage pool has a low damage cap, but at higher levels, the cap increases to a substantial amount. Also, if a Crusader attacks with damage in his delayed damage pool, he gains attack and damage bonuses to his attacks. Lastly, if the Crusader has damage in his damage pool and gets healed, he can choose to have the points healed to his hp, the damage pool, or split between the 2 (half goes to each).

The main reason I bothered writing about D&D is because Matt told me he didn't feel like doing Aberrant for awhile after the next game. Level 6 reroll IMO but WHATEVA.

So, back to this....

For some unknown reason, I have decided to start up a "blog" again. However, I will not be telling people about it immediately cuz I want to talk to myself for a bit. I also decided to set the blog's timezone to CA time since I'll be moving there soon.
